NEWS DESK: Sukhamoy Chakma, former planning officer and general manager of Rubber Plantation Project (1976-2015) of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB), has breathed his last at around 12:15pm on Saturday at his residence at Tabalchhari in Rangamati Hill District.

He was 73. He left his wife, two sons and a daughter, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his dead.

His body was cremated at Asambasti Cremation ground on Sunday afternoon in the town.

His weekly funeral ceremony will be held at his residence next Friday (May 1).

Sukhamoy was suffering from numerous ailments like ulcer, jaundice and kidney problem.

In a condolence message, Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura,NDC, chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board, from the behalf of his office, expressed his profound shock at the death of Sukhamoy Chakma and extended his sympathy to the bereaved members.
